Support our Work

We depend completely on the generosity of donors and members.

We want to get going with all the ideas in OUR MANIFESTO, and most of these need money to get them going.

The more we raise, the faster we can turn around the disastrous state of pipe organs in this country.

Gifts in Memory

You want to leave your legacy to your loved ones, but by choosing to leave a gift to Pipe Up, you can make a difference to Britain’s pipe organs. Your generosity will help ensure that the King of Instruments continues to be accessible to all, not a niche interest and the preserve of a small élite of professionals.

Every gift, no matter the size, will help us continue the work we are doing to preserve and expand Britain’s heritage of pipe organs and their music.

Why your legacy matters

A gift in your will could:

  • Help save an organ from the tip or being broken up when a building homing it closes;

  • Enable us to support a community who want to keep their organ alive;

  • Support us as we advocate for pipe organs as a great musical instrument.

How to leave a gift in your will

Leaving a gift just requires a few simple steps:

  1. Decide the type of gift:

    1. A percentage of your estate (a residuary estate)

    2. A fixed amount (a pecuniary gift)

If you are about to update your will, ask your solicitor for advice on how best to deal with your own situation.

  1. Include Pipe Up for Pipe Organs in your will:

Share this suggested wording with your solicitor:

“I give to Pipe Up for Pipe Organs, Registered Charity number 1199597 (England & Wales) [% of my estate] or [the sum of £] to be used for general charitable purposes absolutely. I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer of duly authorised officer shall be full and sufficient discharge.”

  1. Update an existing will:

You can easily amend your existing will with your solicitor’s help using a simple codicil – or you might have an expression of wish list that you can amend yourself.

Tax benefits: making your legacy go further

At present, leaving 10% of your estate or more to charity can reduce your Inheritance Tax rate, meaning your generosity can go even further for your loved ones and chosen charities.

Your impact, your choice

If you’d like your gift to support a particular area, such as your home town or a particular kind of project, please let us know so that we can do our best to use your legacy as you’d wish.

If you’d like more information, please contact us on legacies@pipe-up.org.uk, or write to us at the address on our website.

Become and Organ Angel

The sheer scale of the problems Pipe Up has been set up to fight means that we need to raise some serious sums of money, soon. Could you become an 'Angel' by donating a significant amount of money to get us going, faster? Our plans are set out in OUR MANIFESTO.

We particularly need help to:

  • Employ staff to help find new homes for unwanted organs

  • Create more storage space

  • Recruit and Train Volunteers

  • Invest in our website

  • Start the training, research and grant programmes to put organ music back into the heart of every community

Time is not on our side. The faster we can raise these sums, the faster we can turn the tide of destruction and neglect.

If you would like to discuss such a donation, please contact us and we will be delighted to take the possibility further.
