WHAT WE DO

RESCUING THREATENED ORGANS

We can rescue and store organs threatened by immediate destruction and try to find them a new home. We welcome contact from anyone who could provide a new home for one.

You will soon be able to download a list of unwanted organs that are currently looking for a new home by clicking the button below.

If you want to find out more about offering a new home to an organ, then you will soon be able to do so by clicking the 'rehome an organ' button.

PLACING ORGANS IN PUBLIC PLACES

So far, we’ve been able to place two organs in public spaces at:

These have introduced thousands of people to the joy of playing and hearing organ music.

We are always looking out for public places to put organs. Please contact us if you know of somewhere suitable.

REVITALISING PUBLIC INTEREST

We want to do much more than just saving threatened organs. We want to revitalise public interest in all aspects of organ music, organ care and appreciation.

Our manifesto sets out what we want to do – and how we want to do it. All this depends on the financial and other support we can mobilise.

GIVING GUIDANCE

Very often, people need advice on what the best course of action is when it comes to an organ they own or have responsibility for.

We provide expert guidance on the possible options and outcomes, and on how to go about achieving them.

Pipe Up’s advice is, in short, to not make hasty decisions, because pipe organs have huge public support and can often be brought back into use, and maintained, at surprisingly modest cost.

One example of the guidance we provide is what to do with an organ in a church that has closed and become a community centre. We have produced a paper on this, which can be downloaded HERE.
